This month’s edition of Spotlight On focuses on our spunky Front Desk Customer Service Representative, Melissa! Here is a bit more about her:
BR|LGC: Job Title & Description?
Melissa: Front desk/Customer Service Representative
BR|LGC: How long have you worked for BR|LGC?
BR|LGC: What’s the best thing about working in the city?
M: I like that there are a ton of restaurant options in the city, I enjoy eating foods from different cultures on my lunch break. Being in the city also makes it really easy to go grab a drink or two after work with some friends.
BR|LGC: Where are you from and where do you currently live. How long have you lived in that area?
M: I am a Brooklyn baby, born and bred!
BR|LGC: Where did you go to college? What was your major?
M: I went to SUNY Morrisville, I couldn’t make up my mind, so my major was Liberal Arts.
BR|LGC: Describe yourself with three words.
M: Vivacious, empathetic, and observant
BR|LGC: What sports did you play growing up? If not sports, what were your favorite activities?
M: I was a very active kid. I have 7 siblings, my parents made it point to keep us enthralled in activities. I took martial arts, played softball, and basket ball. My mother tried to get me into ballet but I was a “tomboy” and I absolutely HATED it.
M: Vanilla for sure, oddly enough I do not like chocolate.
BR|LGC: What’s your favorite TV show?
BR|LGC: What’s your favorite movie?
M: GoodFellas
BR|LGC: What’s your coffee/tea order?
M: I prefer tea over coffee. I am currently enjoying a bubble tea obsession.
BR|LGC: Cats or Dogs?
M: I am allergic to both dogs and cats, however I am a dog lover! I just cant help it.
BR|LGC: If you could go ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, where would it be?
M: Giza Pyramids in Egypt
BR|LGC: What is your favorite “not for tourists” thing to do in NYC?
M: I like to go fabric shopping in the garment district and people watch. Sometimes I’ll go to parks and observe how everyone is dressed, it gives me inspiration. Every few months I like to revamp my accessory collection in wholesale stores and get the most bang for my buck!
BR|LGC: What’s your favorite comfort food?
M: Haagen Dazs pistachio ice cream
BR|LGC: Number One Played Song/Artist on your iPod?
BR|LGC: Do you have any secret skills or hobbies?
M: I am very much into fashion. I like to style/wardrobe and I can also sew. Some of the articles of clothing in my closet I made myself.
BR|LGC: What’s your current favorite style/color in the BR|LGC collections and why?
M: I love cat eye frames . The DY 080 01 GN is a great everyday option.
